At Front, we’re reinventing the inbox so people can accomplish more together. By aggregating all communication channels into one medium, we’ve built a powerful solution to the common distractions caused by cross-platform notifications and habits.

Front combines your email inbox with messages from Slack, texts, and social media, so everything is in one place. Our tool empowers teams to internally collaborate and share customer communication. Got an email about a customer order update? Ask your team members for the most recent information and quickly provide an accurate response to the customer.

Empowering our customers to work happier is our core mission and a key driving force within our internal culture. It’s why we’re determined to continually reinvent the way teams work together – eliminating distractions and helping people focus on work that matters. As a company, we actively practice what we preach. We’re committed to upholding these values by giving Fronteers the opportunity to do the most meaningful work possible.

With a product built to minimize daily distractions, our team is also encouraged to reduce their daily screen time – helping maintain a happier lifestyle with fewer interruptions. Although we use tools like Slack for internal communication, we discourage being online from 7pm to 7am, allowing Fronteers to remove work distractions from their personal lives.

In October last year, we created a challenge for our Fronteers to keep their weekly mobile screen time to under 14 hours (or less than 2 hours a day). At the end of every month, team members that successfully complete this challenge are rewarded with $200.

By proactively building an environment where distractions are mitigated, it fosters the most productive working conditions where team members can make a meaningful contribution each day.

We’ve taken the initiative to make relevant information and context easily accessible for everyone, allowing team members to be more efficient and effective.

We continually practice radical candor to reduce miscommunication. For example, at the end of our weekly all-hands meeting, a Fronteer nominates themself as ‘stumble of the week’ – sharing a mistake they’ve made and the key takeaways from the experience. These #low-ego demonstrations allow the team to reflect and collectively contribute their own opinions or advice. This line of candid communication helps foster the most supportive workplace where each team member genuinely cares about the success of each other.

Our focus on speed allows every team member to quickly get their hands dirty and make a meaningful impact. We listen closely to our customers and remain agile. Across our marketing team – whether it be content, social, or search – we work together to leverage existing cross-channel strategies already in play. Our content team understands the importance of repurposing assets across each channel, allowing us to quickly launch campaigns simultaneously.

Creating a healthy balance between work and wellness is one of our biggest priorities. Beyond helping reduce the anxieties and stress that come from surrounding yourself with technology, we’ve created additional policies that prioritize each individuals physical & mental health.

Not only do we offer generous benefits for medical, dental, and vision insurance, but we also allocate time for team members to volunteer for initiatives that give back to the community. In addition, our team is also given flexible paid time off to relax and recharge. We recommend turning off all notifications and soaking up some quality me-time.

Our team understands the core metrics that attribute to our overall growth, and we give them the power to influence new strategies that drive initiatives across different avenues. We’re nimble and understand the competitive digital landscape, allowing us to continually source new inspiration.

Our team makes a conscious effort to bring together our unique skills across different teams, creating outcomes that are bigger than the sum of its parts.

Within our marketing team, it’s essential to work collaboratively across departments, ensuring we create the most engaging and clear communication for our customers.

By working closely with the product management team, we’ve established a continuous feedback loop that encompasses market trends, customer needs, and competitive factors. This valuable information is used to influence the product development roadmap and mitigate product gaps.

Marketing will also collaborate with the sales and success team to better understand customer problems and needs, allowing us to maximize the impact of our marketing message. 

By clearly defining marketing goals and distributing tasks across departments, it allows us to best utilize our internal resources and collectively solve problems in meaningful ways.

Friends Outside Of Work

As a team of passionate individuals bonded by our shared values, we’re always looking for ways to spend time together both in and out of the office. No matter what your interests, there’s a Fronteer activity you’ll be bound to love.

From visiting art galleries, volunteering for community initiatives, creating and performing original musical productions, and even taking boxing classes together – we’ve got something for everyone’s palette. Did we also mention that the Front soccer team were the 2019 champions 😉

Each year, we even host a poker tournament and charity fundraiser to raise money for a meaningful organization. We love having an occasion to dress up and spend the night together.

One of the best things about the Front team is that everyone takes the time to get to know each other. The relationships we build make coming into work something to look forward to.
